I was excited about having a razor that does it all. I just wish I knew what was in store for me. Keep in mind, this could entirely be my fault, so I’m not judging and convicting here, just laying out what happened to me so I might save someone else from the same type of thing.I received my new razor on Aug 31, 2018.Using this razor for the first time was great. I loved how easy it was to use. The reason I got it was because a friend of mine purchased one.The way I found out about it was during a business meeting one day, I noticed him running this thing along his cheek and I asked him what he was doing and what that thing was that looked like a razor. He said it was the Philips Norelco OneBlade hybrid electric trimmer and shaver and he was shaving with it because he didn’t have time to shave before the meeting. So I checked it out and it looked pretty innovative and I liked the concept of it. The next day I ordered one from Amazon and when I got it, I went picked it up to try it out and accidentally dropped it in the bathroom sink. I saw that the blade section had come off and I wasn’t too concerned. I’ve been shaving for 30+ years and that’s happened to me a lot of times before. However, when I went to pick it up and snap it back together, I saw that the plastic blade stem itself had broken. It was so tiny and so fragile there was no gluing it back together even with PRO Super Glue (and trust me, I tried). So I sent the seller a message saying exactly what happened and they sent me a return label and a brand new razor and I had it in 2 days.Still on my mind about how many times I’ve dropped my old fashioned razor in the sink, the tub, the ground on a camping trip or any number of other places and all I had to do was snap it back together. So I resolved that this new progressive time we live in came with some drawbacks and I would just not be able to drop my new razor anymore if I wanted to keep using it. Especially when the replacement blade is $25 bucks a pop just for one blade refill. Now here’s the clincher. The fragility of this really cool and convenient device is NOT the reason I’m writing this review…I had that image of my friend/business associate shaving just prior to the meeting a couple of weeks earlier and I thought that was pretty cool. So I couldn’t wait until I was able to benefit from this new magical razor in the same way.Sure enough, I was running late for a meeting and had not shaved yet, so I figured, no problem, I’ll just run into the bathroom at work and shave before the meeting and that is what I did.The important thing to know about this razor is that the flat side of the blade itself is meant for shaving your face, but it doesn’t shave all that close. it keeps a 3 o’clock shadow which is fine for a weekend party with friends, but not for a work meeting. So if you want a close shave, you have to sit there and keep running the razor over your face several times and shave your beard down a little more each time. OR, you can do what I did…The edge of this razor is for trimming side burns, mustaches, etc. I assumed, but I found pretty quickly that if I used the edge to shave the cheek and chin and neck area, it cuts the beard down much quicker than the flat edge of the blade does.I hadn’t seen any warnings or «BE CAREFUL» messages in the literature and unless I completely missed it due to my failing eyesight, there wasn’t anything like that having to do with using the edge trimmer part of the blade for shaving your face. It’s also possible that this type of incident is something new that they had not counted on during their product development. If it was, I’m sure they would have had LARGE UNMISTAKABLE words that said, «CAUTION ~ READ THIS MESSAGE FROM NORELCO BEFORE USING THE DEVICE».So I used it the edge of the razor on my face and I got my beard shaved down quickly and I had a clean shave for the meeting. About a day later after I had time to look in a mirror, I noticed a red circle on my cheek and 3 large blotches on my chin and one blotch on my neck. I assumed it was just a rash from the new razor and my face getting used to it.What it actually was however, literally did not even occur to me. Not even the possibility of what happened to me entered my thoughts. As I mentioned, I’ve been shaving for many years and nothing like this had ever happenedI figured it was from the razor and just a little rash and it would be gone in a day or two just like every other facial rash I’ve ever had from sunburn or shaving with a new razor for the first time.A week later when these red marks were still there, I decided to take a really close look at them with a magnifying glass and what I saw was frightening.Where I had used the edge trimmer to get a quicker shave with my new wireless super razor, every one of those red marks appeared to be gashes where the skin on my face was actually removed.Since it was a week after I had used that razor (because sometimes I go for a week without shaving), these red marks were beginning to form what appeared to be permanent scars. It’s well over 4 months. Yes, I waited that long because I thought for some reason it would go away and I guess I denied that it was what it was (permanent?)I still don’t know and I’m writing this in January 2019 and it’s still there. It’s faded a little, but not much.I kept telling myself that this time would pass and these red marks would go away, but they never did.I now have faint scaring on my face everywhere I had used that razor and perhaps pressed a little too hard or ran the blade over my face too many times causing a red mark where not only the beard was removed, but so was the skin on my face.I’m now at the point where I don’t know what to do. I thought about suing, but who do I sue? What are my grounds? That I was too stupid to not use the edge of the razor and sacrifice my face for a quicker shave? But how could I have known it would do this?I’ve used blades made out steel, 5 blades lined up next to each other, and I’ve never received permanent scars from it.I didn’t see any warnings in the literature saying not to use that part of the blade to shave with and it was easy just to flip the blade up and use that edge part to get a quicker shave.Nothing jumped out at me warning me to use caution and not to run the trimmer blade over my face too many times.I didn’t want a 3 o’clock shadow for a business meeting and I didn’t have time to run the flat part of the razor over my face 6 times to get a closer shave. So who’s fault? Who knows. All I know is that I haven’t used my new razor since I saw these red marks on my face and I’ve been purchasing scar ointment here on Amazon to try and get my face back to the way it was before I bought this amazing new technological contraption.I uploaded some pictures so you should get a pretty good idea about what happened to me by looking at my before Norelco and after Norelco pictures.———————————————EDIT FORWARD TO 2023:My Norelco razor was never used again. It still sits in a bag in a junk drawer because it was expensive so I didn’t want to throw it away.Still not sure why. Maybe I thought I might use it again one day, but my overwhelming fear outweighed my desire to use something I paid a lot of money for.The scars that seemed permanent and scared the hell out of me, eventually faded. It was about another 6 months before they did but they did fade.I’ve been shaving with the old fashioned razor ever since.I’ll never use this razor again even if it comes out with a new model which I’m sure it probably has several times. But that’s okay I’m old fashioned and I’m used to old-fashioned ways.Whether or not I changed back to my old-fashioned razor is probably of little to no concern to anybody. In the context of this particular review however, I just wanted to share my story because I think it’s important that everybody knows about it.

Hands down, best electric shaver Ive ever tried. I wasnt expecting much given the price but after I got it today, WOW. This thing is amazing, super comfortable, feels like silk on your skin. Super close shave, ALMOST a razor shave. Fast and effective, dont have to do alot of stokes to get the hair. Best part for me though is, I can shave above, under lips and corner of my ear with zero worry of pinches and cutting, literally put it directly on my lip and it doesnt cut. Ive only had it a few hours and tried it once so far but I was so blown away I had to run over and write a review.Battery life I dont know about yet but I shave once a week and I dont mind charging an hour or 2 before a shave. My facial hair in particular is coarse and full and this just mows it right up.

this is the best face shaver/buzzer i have ever used. small, manuverable and ergonomic, its very easy to use, carry, and charge. i really like the design of the buzzer itself though, you can use either edge of the buzzer to shave either with or against the grain, and you can use the flat side to get a very close shave. it doesn’t just shave either, you can also easily use it to style and trim your facial hair. it has never given me any nicks or cuts, and it doesn’t leave my face feeling raw after using it. it is also very versatile, it is waterproof, so you can use it in the shower, but shaving gel is not required and you can quickly dry shave and still get a pretty close shave (which is what i do in the morning), although i will say, you can never get as close a shave as you can get with a traditional razer and shaving cream with any of these buzzer things, so if that’s what you are looking for, stick with the razer

Trimmed closer than I hoped for. I’ll go couple days of not shaving and was using my beard trimmer with attachment guide off to mow down the growth before actually shaving. This trimmer does it all! I read another review about how it removed some skin, but I didn’t have that issue. I could see an issue if you come up on a mole quick you may shave it right off! This shaver/trimmer just might replace my Braun electric razor! I wanted to see how it worked before ordering future replacement blades. I’ll definately be ordering them next. – Kevin

There is not a better trimmer. Full stop. There is not a better priced product that works this well. This product is perfect. It works perfectly, it charges quick, it’s waterproof, it doesn’t cut you- and the blades last an insane amount of time. I wasn’t paid for this review, (I wish I was) but I cannot speak the praises of this product enough. I used to hate shaving, now it takes 2 minutes.

This is a well-built product and has great functionality, the lower stars is not a reflection of build quality. My experience was less than ideal. While the original shave was easy and comfortable, literally no redness/razor burn, a day or two later, I had the worse aftershave appearance in my experience. I had ingrown hairs where I didn’t think it was possible, like middle cheek. I bet, for someone with tougher skin, this product would be great, and make shaving very easy. My wife likes hers and uses it often, but I still get a better shave from a cheap two-blade disposable than this.

So, I came across these when looking for new razor options. I have always used standard razors and was just looking for a new set. But, then I came across the oneblade.I have a mustache and small beard. I keep these trimmed with a trimmer I have. Then a couple times a week I shave the rest of my face and neck to keep a cleaner look. My wife doesn’t like if I let the random hairs grow too many days.I have fairly sensitive skin, sometimes getting some bumps from manual razors (no issues with this oneblade).I decided to try the oneblade. I was tempted to get a lithium version with all the extras. But, I already have a good trimmer, and, I wanted to try this out before spending more. At 25 bucks this «teen» version is great! Replacement blades cost about 15 bucks, so, really only paid 10 for the device. The blade included is their anti friction blade. Which has been amazing! Cleans my face and neck up in no time, dry.I have ordered a 2 pack of standard blades. I hear they can provide an even closer shave. The anti friction blade provides a plenty close shave for me. Cuts shorter than a 5 o’clock shadow. With the regular blades, and maybe some type of «lube», I’m sure it will be even closer.I don’t know how long the blades will last, but, hopefully a long time for me. Especially since I don’t do a full shave, and only shave a couple times a week.Cost isn’t too bad. I usually use a manual razor for about a week (2 or 3 shaves). And those can cost a few bucks a week. If these blades last 3+ months, they will cost less than a quality manual.I plan to put this teen model to the test for a while, and one day I’ll upgrade to one of their more expensive models. I’ll keep the teen one for travel (a full charge will provide me plenty of shaving time for well over a weeks worth of shaving).Overall, if you want baby smooth skin this isn’t for you. But, if you are ok with a very close shave, this is a great option!*Edit 11/24/2022 – It’s been about a week. I received the new blade 2 pack (with the $10 off code. I had no problem finding or using the code). I honestly cannot tell a difference between the 2 blades. I have shaved dry most the time, and tried with foam for fun as well. They both seem to cut basically the same length, and they both glide over the skin with the same feel, to me at least. I also got a nose trimmer attachment. Found it on Amazon. Works well too and was low cost. If I get myself a #5 trim guard, this single Oneblade will replace all my other shaving tools.I have been shaving more often as well. I have this just in the bathroom of course. And I find basically every day I’ll take it out for a quick touchup. Takes like 1 minute to go over my face and neck. When using manual razors, I’d often go 4 or even 6 days between shaves. Having the Oneblade just makes it that much easier to do quick touchups and stay more freshly shaven all the time.

I’ve been using this Trimmer for about 3 years nowI really love how easy to shape my beard with it, I use it about every 10 days and I charge once every 2-3 months. The trimming comb I use most did break faster then wanted but just replaced it with a new one and all works great. For Trimming bigger parts such as cheeks it takes a long time and you do need to go over from different angles, now I’m using a haircutter now for the bigger parts – much faster and than use the trimmer for all the rest.If you are now a daily user – would highly recommend this good little trimmer.

I shave my head on a weekly basis well the problem is that I have a bunch of piercings on my ears and because of being a female I also have small ears so there’s not much room to maneuver a big shaver in such a tight spot….that’s were this comes in! This little shaver definitely gives you a big bang for your buck! I no longer have to worry if I somehow missed a little hair near my ears because these take care of it all! So if you struggle with those tight spots get you one!

I love this thing. Shaves easily with not cuts or razor burns. I can let my beard grow a couple weeks and it does a great job no matter the length. Blade changes every 25ish uses. Bought my dad one and he loves it too.
