Roku has saved me so much money by me not paying for cable any longer. I had Roku for many years. I love it! It’s great!!!It works really good, has a million channels and it’s super easy to install.I bought 4 Rokus from this seller to send to my sister Rosita overseas. She has 4 tv’s, very impressive in the town she lives in where people only have one tiny tv set per household due to poverty in that country, so you could say that she is the talk of the town with all her tv’s and now she will be the envy of the all the Señoras because she is the only señora in town to have Roku! She is the only one in the village with such decadent luxury and ppl know about it… oh, they are talking. They do not sell Roku overseas. They never heard of it in my country and best of all, Roku was smart enough once connected to pick up the local language (Spanish)Everyone is visiting her just to get a glance at her big tv with the Roku stick. She no longer pays for cable, wich is great because cable is very expensive over there and best of all she is the envy of la doña Vicky Esperanza, the towns richest señoraand my sister’s arch enemy since childhoodOr should I say, «Frenemies» cause they’re savages in chaos and hypocrisy. The drama Roku has cause is priceless, La Doña Vicky Esperanza will never top the fact that my fat, short and ugly «low class» sister (as Doña Vicky Esperanza might say) has better TV entertainment than she does.Serves Doña Vicky Esperanza right since she has always been in competition with Rosita, who beat her at the local «Señorita Bonita» contest back in 1985.

We prefer the Roku boxes over Apple TV. These boxes don’t seem to go into forced obsolescence; both existing boxes are now 4 and 5 years old and still being updated to the current OS and apps. We are building out a spare bedroom in the basement and installed our old living room TV on the wall. Rather have to run yet another cable or coax through the house, bought this Roku «stick» to install on the TV and use that, SlingTV and «AirTV» to bring the content to the room over the WiFi connection.Works BEAUTIFULLY! The only difference between this and the traditional set-top boxes is that this does not control the TV power, you have to turn the TV on first. The PLUS is that this «stick» gets its power from the USB port on the TV, so no power pucks need to be plugged in.If we ever have house guests, they will have a wonderful media option in the bedroom!

Day 1 review: I bought to replace a much older failing Roku that had been freezing video and had been having the sound go silent every few minutes. The new Roku streams great so far. The freezing and sound issues don’t happen with new device. I’ve very happy with the streaming and sound. However I’m unimpressed the new remote control. It is too tiny , and too thin. It is uncomfortable to use and almost painful to manipulate. For me it is similar to a tiny travel mouse with a laptop, sure all the buttons and functions work, but I don’t want to use it for more than a moment. If this Roku had come with a larger, better remote I would be much happier overall.Update after using for a few days: the sound problem does happen intermittently, sound goes silent for about 1 second a couple of times per hour. As for the small remote control I was able add my older, larger remote to this new roku. I’m using that older remote that is more confortable , the buttons are the same so functions work the same way

Works great. No volume control which is fine for me. Thing to note is that the power supply adapter that is not I clouded may be needed. Not all televisions with a USB port are 2 amps which is what is needed to power the Roku. If you try plugging it in to power through your televisions usb port and you are stuck in the update reset boot loop, you need the adapter. At least 2 amps will work. My Samsung phone USB quick charge adapter did the trick.

As long as you have Wi-Fi you can watch more free TV and movies. Roku is a blessing and it helps you to cut the cable! You can order Netflix Hulu Disney Channel whatever you want. You don’t have to pay for channels you’re never going to want to watch or sports channels if that’s not your thing. Though you can watch all your sports channels practically I’m pretty sure on Roku for free. I’m just not a sports person but I’ve seen it there. I bought this for a friend who’s struggling with money and this helps tremendously.

I have had a couple of Fire Stick for a few years now. I hardly ever use them except for watching videos on YouTube sometimes.I built a media server and installed Plex. I installed the Plex app on my phone, computers, and Fire Sticks.Plex works great on my phone and computers but it really seemed to struggle on the Fire Sticks. Buffering and the spinning circle thing and then it was still buggy. I started looking for an alternative to the Fire Sticks.I went shopping on Amazon. Roku devices seem to get very good reviews so I bought one. Then I bought an Android TV box at the same time, for about the same price, 30 bucks. The Roku showed up first so I installed it and installed the apps that I use. YouTube, Plex, Paramount Plus, Peacock, and Amazon Prime. The Spectrum app was already installed.OMG! What a difference between the Fire Sticks and the Roku! It is a night and day difference. Compared to the Fire Sticks the Roku Express is very fast and snappy. It does have to buffer my Plex videos right at the very beginning for about 2 seconds, then it is off and running and no more buffering.I could never even install the Spectrum app into a Fire Stick. I had to side load it, then it wanted to update itself, then it became incompatible with the Fire Stick. A very frustrating experience. This Roku came with the Spectrum app pre-installed and it works great. Almost as good as a cable box. I will get rid of one of my cable boxes now and use the Roku instead. The Android box showed up a little while later and I was already sold on the Roku, but I gave it a shot anyway. I tried to be objective and honest. Well that was a waste of time. The Android box took forever just to boot! I had already made up my mind but it sure wasn’t helping itself. After a few minutes of watching it try to boot then try to download updates unsuccessfully, I packed it back up and put it back in the box. I didn’t get very far with it. It’s going back to Amazon. The bottom line is this tiny little Roku Express packs more features and it just works better, exceeding all of my expectations. FINALLY, a product that does what it says, no excuses, and it just works. I can’t say enough good things about it. 5 stars in my book. Right now anyway. Lol I’ve had it for a day so we’ll see how long it stays snappy but so far so good. Well worth the investment IMHO, a lot of bang for the buck, and it impressed me so much that I bought a second one.UPDATE: After a week I still think they are very fast and snappy. I am very happy with them. The Roku Express does seem to be the cheap version with minimal features, but they work great. They don’t seem to turn off so I take it back to the home screen then shut off the tv. When I come back I turn on the tv then hit the home button on the Roku remote to wake it up. It wakes up fast! And it is so tiny! About half the size of the remote. Amazing! 10 stars!

I have a 2016 Sony kdl-40W650D which I used to for. The tv itself is out dated and slow. It stopped supporting its apps and kept crashing when I’d open an app so I’m desperation I order this Roku add on. The add on works great I just plugged it into the HDMI and usb port, it will not work unless it’s plugged into both HDMI and usb. Once I plugged everything in it worked great! Everything loads quickly, no lagging, or freezing. I’d 100% recommend for people with older tv’s who want to save money and not have to buy a completely new smart tv. My tv now works the same as my boyfriends new Roku tv besides graphics ofc but other than that the loading screen is great apps work efficiently and graphics are still good. I’d definitely recommend and buy again in the future. I will say Amazon accidentally sent me two so I will be plugging the second into our cheaper living room tv and see how well it runs,

This Roku replaces an old Roku 3 that was having occasional freezes requiring power cycling. This one works well. The installation process was fairly quick. Just remember to have all your streaming service account info available before you start the process. I set the new one up using a PC monitor on my desk. Then I was able to quickly swap out the old Roku attached to the TV. The old one had it’s own power adapter. You’ll have to provide a USB adapter or use a spare USB port on your TV for this new one.The user interface on the screen is basically the same. The new remote is slight different and doesn’t have the audio output of the old one.Recommend.

I was ready to buy a new smart TV, when I discovered Roku while traveling. It’s wonderful. It was so easy to set up and I am watching all of my streaming networks now. It’s also fun to find the free shows offered by Roku. I can also access our cable service through Roku, without an extra remote or box. I’m a Roku fan!
